Early Years learning through play
Early Years new play equipment
Early Years were thrilled to receive brand‑new outdoor play equipment thanks to a generous charity grant. The children have been enjoying every moment—exploring the playhouse, digging and creating in the sand shed, painting at the outdoor easel, experimenting with the water wall and engaging in endless imaginative play with our loose parts. It has already brought so much joy and creativity to their outdoor learning!
Learning to Read and Write
Your child will receive daily phonics session following the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised Scheme. This is a consistent and highly effective approach to teaching phonics with classroom resources and a diverse range of decodable phonics books.
The scheme was developed in collaboration with two English Hubs, Wandle Learning Trust and Little Sutton Primary School and is DfE validated and used in more than 4000 schools!
All books are matched perfectly to the Little Wandle progression and support all the Letters and Sounds phases.
Your child will discover an exciting mix of stories and non-fiction, with blending practice and stretch and challenge books.
There are practical, hands-on resources to support the phonics teaching, including grapheme cards, charts and mats, wall friezes, word cards and tricky word cards. Plus, there are also resources for Rapid catch-up and SEND support.
The school offers teacher led phonics and reading and writing workshops for parents to ensure continuity between home and school learning. The most recent workshops were very well attended.
