Viking Day

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic time during their Viking Day! The children explored real and replica artefacts up close, took part in trading activities, acted out Viking scenes, and even dressed in traditional Viking-style clothing. Throughout the day, they investigated the big historical question: Were the Vikings really pirates? It was a brilliant hands‑on experience that brought their learning to life.

Year 5 Adventure Day at Standon Bowers

Our Year 5 pupils had an unforgettable experience at Standon Bowers, taking part in a wide range of adventurous outdoor activities. The children showed incredible confidence and determination as they challenged themselves with axe throwing, rifle shooting, den building and crate stacking. They also bravely took on the thrill of leaping from heights and climbed the impressive gladiator wall with smiles, teamwork and plenty of encouragement for one another.

Their behaviour throughout the day was exemplary, and they represented our school with pride. Well done, Year 5 — what an amazing day of learning, challenge and achievement!

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils recently completed their Bikeability training, developing essential skills to help them cycle safely and confidently on the road. Throughout the sessions, the children demonstrated excellent focus, resilience and responsibility as they practised signalling, road awareness and safe cycling techniques. We are incredibly proud of how well they represented St Mary’s and the positive feedback they received from the instructors.
